Pride Winnipeg: Plan a Day That Fits Your Group

Separate the parade, festival and community events when planning Pride.

← Spring in Winnipeg

Pride Winnipeg brings the city’s 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and supporters together through a season of events. The festival at The Forks includes entertainment and vendors, while the rally, parade and other community activities have their own arrangements.

Decide which experience you want

Watching the parade, spending time at a performance and attending a smaller community event are different plans. Choose an anchor activity and check its current location and timing. Do not assume the entire celebration happens at one venue or follows one ticket policy.

Plan for a busy outdoor day

Agree on a meeting point and a way to reconnect if phones are difficult to hear. Consider how long everyone wants to stay, where to take a break and what the weather may require. Check current accessibility information rather than relying on last year’s route.

Participate with respect

Pride is a community celebration, not simply a backdrop for photographs. Ask before taking identifiable close-up pictures of strangers, respect people’s names and pronouns, and follow the organizers’ conduct guidance.

For families, read the specific event description and decide which programming suits your children. For a first-time visitor, a shorter visit with one trusted friend can be a comfortable introduction. If you want to volunteer or participate more actively, use the organizer’s official application information. Future dates, routes and programming should always be checked against the current season’s announcements.
